REASEARCH AND MOODBOARD
Before starting with the design work, a moodboard is put together, exploring how other brands talk about ESG and collating design systems that sparks inspiration for the current project.

SCAMPING AND FIRST APPROACH
Moved to the brainstorming phase, drawing several sketches roughly on paper, to get lots of ideas out and experiment with concepts.

ESG ICONS
Remaining conscious of the fact that not everyone understands what the letters in ESG stand for, this design was developed to help people familiarize themselves with each of the pillars tying each letter to an icon that represent; environmental, social, and governance. An engaging and colourful identity will help us to explain and present each pillar distinctively.

HIGHLIGHTING ESG
Wanting to highlight ESG, the idea of underlining it, allowing for it to be used as a stand alone lock up or in a sentence/title. Also, because ESG is about how people care about Environment, Social and Governance, it has a handwriting feel to add more warmth to the design.

FURTHER EXPLORATION
After sketches, the selected concepts are digitised, font selected for each one; on the left opting for simple sans-serif for concept one and a handwritten look and feel for concept two. Also, a decision on the palette is made, choosing colors from the Bally’s brand palette, and selecting a color per letter. Also, secondary logos are created, one per pillar so they can be used accordingly.

LOGO REFINENMENT
Once a concept is selected, there is further exploration and iteration, changing the main logo to have an icon representing each letter.

ESG PATTERNS
Along with the different logos, a suite of patterns is developed, four general ones for ESG and then three different ones for Environment, Social and Governance taking as inspiration the shape that represents each pillar.
